The Role We are seeking a creative and skilled Social Media Coordinator and Copywriter to join our marketing team. As a Social Media Coordinator and Copywriter, you will play a crucial role in shaping our brands online presence and effectively communicating our messaging to our target audience. Your ability to create engaging and persuasive copy across various platforms will be essential in driving brand awareness, engagement, and ultimately, business growth. Content monitoring and performance is also a responsibility of this position, ensuring the content used across our campaign collateral shows high engagement and has been executed effectively.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Develop compelling and original written content for various social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Create clear, concise, and creative copy for posts, captions, hashtags, and comments to resonate with the target audience and align with brand voice and values.
Collaborate with the graphic design team to create visually appealing and relevant posts that enhance the impact of the written content.
Social Media Strategy
Assist in the development of social media content calendars that align with marketing campaigns and other key business initiatives.
Research and identify relevant trends, topics, and conversations for content creation and engagement strategies.
Monitor and analyze social media metrics to gauge content performance, audience engagement, and overall social media effectiveness.
Build and maintain meaningful interactions with the online community by responding to comments, messages, and user-generated content in a timely and authentic manner.
Cultivate relationships with followers, influencers, and other stakeholders to build a loyal and engaged online community.
Write persuasive and compelling copy for various marketing materials, such as website content, email campaigns, programme descriptions, advertisements, and landing pages.
Ensure consistency in messaging, tone, and branding across all written communication channels.
Editing and Proofreading
Review and edit content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style, ensuring high-quality and error-free copy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and alignment of content with marketing objectives.
Other areas of focus:
Ensuring the website is frequently audited and core page content continues to be updated and enhanced for the user experience.
Monitor and manage the effectiveness of digital profiles, working closely with the Assistant Marketing Manager to pull necessary analysis and report to the wider marketing team.
Hold the responsibility of ensuring our profiles are maintained and hold the most up to date content across both internal and third-party platforms.
Support with providing content for the existing editorial calendar and make recommendations for calendar enhancements.
Prepare content writing tools that can assist the wider university to ensure the content being published is appropriate for print media, digital media etc.
Ensure compliance with law around copyright and data protection.
RequirementsPost Holder Requirements The successful candidate will hold:
Proven work experience as a Content Specialist/Copywriter
An Excellent command of spoken and written English
A motivated self-starter with a proven ability to effectively collaborate and deliver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of Digital Content, SEO and Web traffic metrics
Good organizational and time management skills
An impressive portfolio of written material, including feature articles.
Experience of producing/Initiating effective content across multi platforms
Honours degree or higher degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant field.
Minimum of two years recent relevant experience in a copywriter, social media manager, journalism, editorial role or similar.
