As a solutions architect for Customer Innovation Programs (CIP), you will have an exciting opportunity to help customers build innovative new solutions in the cloud. You will work as part of a dynamic team based in the UAE.
Your primary responsibility will be to understand business requirements and help transform them into technical architecture. You will provide service advice and liaise with AWS partners to help the customer move rapidly from idea, to prototype, to production solution. In addition, you will build and participate in mechanisms for tracking impact for customers and for AWS, and use your experience to help improve our engagement model.
You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial enterprise technology environment, and working with cross functional teams as many parts of the program will have interdependencies with other teams within AWS.
The right candidate will be entrepreneurial and have experience leveraging human centered design to explore the development of new products, services, or experiences. This includes demonstrated experience in identifying and developing customer-centric innovation solutions, working with senior technology leaders and decision makers, a proven track record working on multiple simultaneous projects to meet customer business objectives, excellent communication skills, a customer-obsessed and collaborative approach, strong data and metrics bias, a good understanding of cloud solutions, and a passion for helping customers drive business growth using cloud technologies.
Key job responsibilities
Work with UAE innovation leader to identify and qualify customers suitable for the innovation program.
Earn trust with senior technology stakeholders within customer and partner organizations.
Facilitate solution workshops to understand business requirements and map to cloud solution architectures.
Lead and coordinate translation of those solutions into new production workloads, working with relevant technology experts, services teams, and partners where appropriate.
Build value propositions and technology business cases.
Effectively track and articulate the value of engagements underway, and major wins.
Share knowledge effectively across the EMEA team.
Help develop and improve the CIP engagement model based on engagement experience.
Work with the Partner team to identify, engage and enable partners who can accelerate our approach to digital innovation.
Conduct customer briefings, present at customer events, further AWS solutions-led thought leadership in the innovation and technology domains.

Basic Qualifications

Basic Requirements
5 years of experience in customer-facing solution architect or equivalent technology role
Good understanding of public and hybrid cloud platforms, and the technologies customers are using to deliver digital transformation
Familiarity with innovation principles and mechanisms, notably Amazon approaches, including: customer obsession and working backwards
Passion for innovation and how technology can help large public sector organisations produce customer-first solutions
Ability to multitask and manage portfolio of projects – work prioritization, planning, collaboration, and management
Operational excellence mind-set and experience. Data driven. Excellent problem-solving skills. Adept at simplifying complexity and developing scalable propositions
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with business-fluent English and Arabic, to be able to drive discussions in a customer organisation, as well as the technical background that enables you to easily interact with and give guidance to customers working in operational roles.
Education BA or equivalent required; additional qualifications in relevant areas highly desired
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of relevant work experience in enterprise, start-up or public sector markets. Breadth and depth in multiple industry markets and industry ecosystems
Deep knowledge innovation mechanisms and design-thinking
Published thought leadership in digital technology
Experience of designing, and facilitating customer and internal workshops that include senior-leadership attendees
Good working knowledge of AWS Services especially higher level services that are the focus of customer innovation (AI/ML, IoT, etc.)
AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other recognised industry certification.
