Job Title: Procurement Manager
The Procurement Manager is responsible for efficiently managing both the procurement and accounting functions within the organization. This role involves strategic planning, vendor management, cost control, as well as financial management and reporting related to procurement activities.
Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential efficiencies in the procurement process.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure advantageous agreements.
Create purchase orders and ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.
Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, and regulations.
Analyze market trends and pricing to make informed purchasing decisions.
Monitor and control procurement budgets.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Manage and optimize inventory levels to minimize carrying costs.
Ensure that purchased products and services meet quality and compliance standards.
Address quality issues and work with suppliers to resolve them.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions related to procurement.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of procurement-related financial transactions.
Reconcile procurement accounts, track expenses, and manage budgets.
Prepare and present regular financial reports related to procurement activities to management.
Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Implement and enforce procurement and accounting policies and procedures within the organization.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, supply chain management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Proven experience in procurement and accounting, with a track record of successful vendor management, cost reduction, and financial reporting.
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of procurement software and tools.
Familiarity with legal and ethical procurement and accounting standards and regulations.
Strong Accounting Knowledge and Expertise
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) and accounting (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
Familiarity with industry-specific procurement needs and challenges (e.g., IT procurement, construction procurement) may be required depending on the organization’s focus.
