Our Food and Beverage team is an integral piece of the puzzle. They are cultured yet trendy hosts with an innate ability to anticipate guests needs by being in the right place at the right time and delivering a hospitality experience that goes above and beyond – crafting exciting memories for our guests that last a lifetime.
The Candidate
As Pool Manager, you will join a committed Food and Beverage team, driven with the intent of delivering FIVE-star experiences to an international diaspora in the heart of vibrant Dubai and Zurich.
The VIBE at FIVE is all about performing optimally while having the best professional experience of your life. You will be expected to have a passion for your role, disrupt norms all whilst having the best time of your life.
As our ideal candidate, you have proven experience in a highly active environment. Your organizational, communication, and leadership skills are second to none and you enjoy developing guest solutions that break boundaries.
We are looking for a natural self-starter who demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities, can focus on, and execute, tasks with a sharp eye for detail. An outgoing, people-friendly personality with an ability to think on your feet during changing situations is also essential.
Youll work closely with the management team to develop constantly evolving service goals.
Key Responsibilities
Constantly aim to achieve FIVEs Mission and Vision for the Social Pool
To control usage of all food and beverage items and appropriate usage of equipment, tools and service equipment
To observe daily conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the department; make recommendations for corrections and improvements, as needed
To prepare colleague schedules, which allow for high-levels of service while controlling labour costs
To communicate with other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals
To communicate with the Chef and F&B management to discuss menus, marketing strategies and guest comments and concerns
Liaise with the Sales team for coordination of future/current events, ideas and suggestions to introduce promotional activities
To ensure a safe working environment for all colleagues within the venue
To forecast covers and revenues and schedules for the same accordingly
To recommend salary adjustments, transfers, promotions and dismissals
To prepare daily and weekly payroll as required by the Controller
To understand all food and beverage items offered, including ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service
To complete and conduct regular performance evaluations for all colleagues as per FIVEs policies
To manage, control and promote good public relations while handling complaints or concerns of all guests
To handle all inventories directly involved with the operations of the venue
To effectively utilise the computer system in ringing, printing and closing checks as well as shift reports or any other office usage
To properly handle and report employee and guest incidents
To respond properly in any emergency or health and safety situation
To continually be aware of departmental needs as they relate to production and staffing
To forecast workloads and check work schedules prepared by subordinate managers for all venue colleagues
To develop job descriptions and review them periodically to ensure their continuing effectiveness
To control standards, performance, colleague conduct, dress code, appearance, hygiene etc. according to established FIVE policies
To formulate and recommend changes to improve colleague performance and teamwork
To assist and produce divisional budget, revenue and expenses
To be thoroughly knowledgeable in all facets of Human Resource Management – interviewing, evaluating, disciplining and termination as well as all administration-related HR activities
To identify potential problems and ask for assistance before operational or any other breakdowns occur
To provide lateral service within the hotel premises, whenever needed.
Ensure venue complies with regards to health and safety, HACCP and hygiene regulations
Ensure targets set by FIVE are met (i.e. JD Power, LQA, HACCP, COS etc.)
Develop service relationships with regular guests in order to achieve optimum service levels that are FIVE-star
Requirements
What Were Looking For

An ability to find creative solutions while taking ownership for all duties and tasks assigned
Strong working knowledge of industry regulations
Previous relevant experience is a plus
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a necessity
Proficiency in multiple languages is a bonus
