ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
The British University in Dubai (BUiD) was established in 2003 out of a decree signed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai. BUiD is evolved in collaboration with United Kingdom universities and is currently partnered with the Universities of Manchester, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. BUiD operates on a not-for-profit basis, and aims to contribute to knowledge development, technological innovation and socio-economic progress in the UAE and beyond.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Handling all aspects of relationship with external stakeholders, alumni relations and marketing and promoting BUiDs brand.
RESPONSIBILITES WITH DUTIES
Marketing
Knowledge of social media marketing
Follow best practices for social media and website marketing performance
Prepare email campaigns to send to external stakeholders
External Relations
Presenting BUiD at school visits and fairs, education exhibitions
Attending BUiD open days (physical and online)
Preparing for and conducting competitions at schools
Identifying new opportunities for external engagement, partnership working and collaboration to raise brand awareness and promote our programmes
To organise and develop related activities (such as workshops, talks) to encourage students, alumni, and staff to actively contribute and enhance the Universitys network
Alumni Relations
Reviewing, updating and building a new alumni database platform
Implementing and developing a long term alumni relationship and enhancing the communication process by:
creating an annual plan of alumni events and activities
engaging alumni with the academic life of BUiD through events, communications, internal activities (workshops, presentations to current students, classes, activities, etc.)
developing an ambassadorial role to champion the Universitys alumni externally
producing web and email communication, including development and overview of the Development and Alumni Relations website and web services for alumni
meeting alumni, representing the department and University at alumni and other external events and meetings
highlighting alumni success stories on the Universitys social media
Advisory Groups
Coordinating the advisory board meetings/taking minutes/maintaining an updated list of advisory members
Other
Undertakes other responsibilities as required by the line manager and fitted to the time and grade level of the position.
