Key Supply Chain member for the assigned region. Responsible for developing and executing all aspects of product procurement, logistics, distribution and supplier development in existing and new markets in assigned region. Responsible for maintaining awareness of regional supply chain trends, potential obstacles/issues and emerging market opportunities. Work collaboratively with Wendys DRSC and franchisees to ensure the supply chain is robust, scalable, reliable, fully leveraged to achieve values that are beneficial to the Wendys system which drive sustainable competitive advantage for the business.
Responsibilities
Franchisee Support: Develop and maintain good partnership with our franchise partners. Responsible for enhancing the supplier and distribution network in the countries that we currently operate in, and provide stewardship in supplier relationship. Establishes short- and long-term strategic direction and plans. Maintains in-depth knowledge of assigned industries and markets. Build franchisee SCM teams capability
Supplier Management: Work on prioritizing supplier base into categories such as Transactional/developmental/Preferred/strategic based on Wendys SCM criteria to ensure resources are properly engaged. Manage suppliers with proper Account Management methodology with KPIs, and conducting supplier business review to ensure that the suppliers are aligned with Wendys business strategy. Conduct performance review to ensure suppliers are recognized and awarded growth based on meritocracy. Responsible for regional negotiation and sourcing review with RFI/RFP.
Procurement and Category Management: Support the supply chain management function for all Company and Franchise International restaurants including sourcing, procurement, distribution, supplier selection, warehousing, transportation in assigned region. Support supervisor in SCM strategies and responsible for developing long term category management strategy that is effective in delivering all the supply chain objectives; cost, quality, supply, innovation/technology and system. Accountable for category management with respect to critical and key categories assigned. Develop and achieves food and paper cost improvement targets and productivity initiatives associated with all assigned products and International markets
Cross Functional and Corporate Liaison: Collaborates and aligns with all regional functional groups (Marketing, Operations, QA, Finance, Development) maximizing the synergy and leverage opportunities to meet overall business priorities. Liaise with global team and respective business unit for updates, activities and reports.
Program Management and Report/Analysis: Product development with strategic/preferred supplier for brand standards and Wendys specifications. Build contingency plan and capacity growth plan for key products and conduct testing periodically. Support building a structured and superior data base for supply chain to facilitate accurate spend analysis, proper demand forecast and optimal supply network design.
NPD and New Market: Responsible for implementing effective supply chain solution for new market and mapping out long term outlook. Approve suppliers locally when needed for new market. Responsible for all Supply Chain Management projects and promotions that affect regional markets including planning, execution, timing, quality and cost. Approves proposed project plans and ensures projects are aligned with Company standards and strategies.
Supplier selection on capability and meeting Wendys criteria
Development of regional supply infrastructure and the strategies
Procurement process and plan with business case submission from franchisees
Supplier agreement and negotiation
On board new markets through supplier establishment and QA certification
Technology development for supply chain
What we expect from you
7 or more years experience in Supply Chain Management; B.S./B.A. Business, Economics, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management; or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience
Commodity market analysis and strategy skills
Project Management Skills And Multi-project Experience.
International Supply Chain experience; Restaurant experience;
Strong English written and verbal communication skills required; Written and verbal communication skills in assigned regions dominant language preferred.
Knowledge of in-country regulation and importation restriction
Supplier relationship mgmt. skills; Understanding of total cost of ownership and unbundling of supply chain; Previous supervisor responsibilities
