Our client is an Information Technology and software development and publishing company. We work with global clients in IT management, software applications and big data analytics.
We are looking for a Legal and Compliance Manager, who will support and report to the General Manager and Finance Manager to carry out the necessary customer due diligence (‘CDD’) tasks as per local legislative requirements and regulatory requirements to ensure that the company is adequately complying with all of its obligations.
Following up external regulatory requirements and industry practices to identify and assess potential compliance risk in all aspects of the Companys business;
Drafting and implementing internal compliance rules, policies and annual plan of the Company
Drafting annual compliance report and reporting to companys General Manager.
Conducting the compliance check and review as required, and issuing compliance opinions
Support the Finance Manager for reporting compliance to government authorities such as audit, tax, ESR reporting and other related government reportorial requirements.
Formulate and review general compliance manual, anti-money laundering (AML)/ countering the financing of terrorism (CFT) and other internal policies and procedures
Keep abreast on AML/CFT-related updates and regulatory changes and advise management and departments accordingly
Monitor the Companys operation and employee dealing, and perform compliance Anti Bribery and AML checking to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, and internal policies and procedures
Organizing and carrying out compliance risk arising mainly from trade business assessment and alert, compliance monitoring, compliance interviews, compliance check and compliance assessment, etc.
Lead the management of customer risks by conducting KYC process and review of customers/ clients.
Provide in-house training on rules and regulations and promote compliance awareness in the Company
Liaise with government bodies and handle regulators enquiry, notification requirement, reporting, inspection, and investigation
Working with other functions to carry out internal investigations
Guiding, coordinating and supervising subsidiaries of the Company on compliance management
Providing legal advice and guidance on all issues related to contracts and giving advice on legal and commercial risks related to business activities
Preparing legal memos, contracts, agreements, correspondence and reports
Maintaining all legal files for the Company
Other matters as required by the management team.
Degree holder or above with major in Law, Risk Management, or other related disciplines. LLB degree is an advantage
Minimum 3 years UAE solid experience in AML/CFT matters, Compliance and Operational audits, preferably in sizable financial institutions, professional firms, or regulatory bodies
Solid understanding of Local and international audit, laws & regulations, standards and market practices, solid knowledge of risk management framework (including compliance risk, operational risk, fraud risk, etc.) and risk model, customer due diligence, screening and sanctions compliance, transaction monitoring and suspicious transaction reporting
Mature, independent, self-motivated, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
Strong analytical, problem-solving, report writing and presentation skills
Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese and English, with good command of Mandarin
Professional qualification or member of related professional bodies
