Lead electrical Engineer for Motors and Drives Full Time

We are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer with mediumvoltage Motors and VFDs selection and integration experience in the Oil &Gas / Petrochemical & Energy Sector. Job position to be located in UAE withresponsibilities covering engineering activities across Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

Perform design activities as part of a team for designing of electrical systems including MV and LV motors, MV VFD’s, MV, LV and AC/DC-Switchgear, Batteries, Rectifiers, Inverters, DC-DC Converters, HV and LV transformers, grid interfaces etc.
Act as technical authority with respect to MV (and LV) variable frequency drives and electric motors with responsibilities for final equipment selection in projects.
Provide technical support to sales/bid team in area of his expertise.
Perform technical alignment with customers and suppliers assuring adequacy of selected equipment.
Providing inputs for time schedule development for the electrical scope of works in projects.
Supervision of deadlines, quality, and costs for the electrical scope of works.
Responsibility for the design review process.
Preparation of affiliated documents e.g. Data Sheets, Technical evaluations, Single Line Diagram, Typical drawings, Technical calculations etc.
Preparation of technical specifications and inquiry documentation
Participation in engineering and optimization of interfaces
Review of contractors engineering
Staying current on relevant technologies, fitting solutions to client needs and keeping ahead of competition with technical solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in power electrical engineering, Master’s degree in electrical engineering will be considered as plus.
MV (and LV) variable frequency drives and electric motors experience with min. 3 years of experience (min. 10 Years industry experience O&G) with international companies.
Broad experience with industrial scale drives in power range of 1+ MW;
Design experience in brownfield projects with “motor to motor” or “turbine to motor” replacements as drivers for mechanical equipment (compressor, pump…).
Deep understanding of project business including customer approach in typical Energy/Power, Oil & Gas / Petrochemical turbomachinery applications (compressor and pump drives);
Intercultural sensitivity, in order to work for/in international team
Self-motivation with high energy drive and business sense
Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process
Practical knowledge of software’s like Eplan, AutoCAD software.
Excellent spoken and written English language skills
