Job Responsibilities:
Represent the business from a finance perspective, with responsibility for ensuring the delivery of FP&A related tasks and services that meet global business needs across EK’s global set-up, headquarter based departments, all its subsidiaries and Group Services.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, the role coordinates with the Group Centre of Excellence (CoE) units in Finance to develop and implement a Finance strategy which maximises Group synergies and results. The role will partner with the EK and Group Services Executive and Senior Management to achieve the organisation’s long-term vision to be one of the world’s largest international, most innovative, customer-oriented, and profitable airlines and in providing the most advanced and effective support by its centralized Group Services functions at highest corporate and technological standards.
Job Accountabilities Linked to Objective Areas: – Plan, develop and implement finance strategies, policies and processes which are optimal to Emirates and the Group in collaboration with the other Finance units (CoE’s, dnata FP&A, GFS) and their senior management.
Provide the voice of EK at discussions related to the Group’s overall Finance strategy. – Lead role in providing financial insights and set clear direction and optimise decision making as a member of multiple Group or EK-wide cross-functional boards and committees.
Lead and coordinate a team of FP&A professionals in DXB (EGHQ) and Finance professionals worldwide across EK’s subsidiaries and JV’s and collaborate with other Finance units at Group level to deliver high quality financial services including managing team performance through coaching, talent management mentoring and supporting staff in their individual development and succession planning.
Direct the team to engage and partner with external stakeholders such as aircraft manufacturers, other strategic suppliers and at Industry (IATA) level to allow for benchmarking and best practices sharing.
Drive optimisation of the finance function cost by maximising synergies across the Emirates Group in close collaboration with other Finance units at Group level and through the effective use of people and systems.
Lead role in Emirates in the delivery of financial expertise to evaluate and implement EK’s strategy across the various business functions and Group Services units supporting new business opportunities through organic growth, passenger and fleet expansion, new customer services and offerings and through other investments or partnerships. Collaborate in the preparation of business cases with the CoE s in Finance and driving profit and cash flow improvement programs to meet financial targets.
Plan, develop and implement Medium and Long-Term Business Planning processes, influencing improvement in top (revenue) and bottom (profit) line, cash flows and KPIs that are aligned to the fleet plan and individual business operating plans. Lead the annual planning and budget process to ensure that financial targets and KPI improvements in alignment with the Medium and Long-Term Plan. This includes capital expenditure and working capital requirements enabling Group Treasury to establish cash flows across the various planning periods, establishing and executing the Group’s financing strategy.
Coordinate with the CoE’s in Finance and Internal Audit to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and, legal and regulatory compliance in relation to all finance matters.
Collaborate with Group Treasury, Risk Management and ESG to ensure that EK entities have adequate liquidity and the central management of surplus funds by Finance to maximise EK’s interest income.
Coordinate with CoE’s in Finance to ensure EK views are taken into consideration in representations to external agencies, financial partners, auditors etc. and best interest of EK is always achieved.
Plan, develop and implement the business performance framework across the Group mainly supported by latest Management Information System technologies by ensuring that high quality and timely finance support and guidance is provided and available to business managers (EK and Group Services), ensuring all material deviations, inaction and incorrect decisions are highlighted in a timely and factual manner.
Ensure knowledge sharing activities take place to improve financial awareness and techniques amongst these stakeholders, to enhance the quality of business cases and decision making.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) plus, a relevant post-graduate professional finance qualification. Experience:
12+ years’ experience in a large multi-national organisation heading one of the core finance functions and leading a large team of senior experienced, preferred culturally diverse, finance professionals working across multiple geographies in a matrix organisation of multiple heads of Finance.
In-depth working knowledge of the FP&A discipline is preferable or otherwise solid experience in other Finance areas including Financial Reporting, Treasury and Risk Management and Group Financial Services. Knowledge/skills:
Strong influencing and communication skills – Ability to deal at all levels within a global business combined with a sound knowledge of effective FP&A best practice, supporting system requirements and latest technologies.
