Job Description
Contract Manager, the candidate shall be responsible to support ongoing as well as future business of the Company in Abu Dhabi on all legal and contractual matters
Responsibilities
To be the point of contact for all contractual and legal support requirement of Company in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
To be the point of contact for providing legal and contractual support to all bids and projects relating to the Company in Dubai and to drive the contractual actions needed to contribute to profitability and internal targets with a particular view on enhancement of cash flow.
Review bids and draft, negotiate and manage complex commercial contracts to be addressed by the Company operating units or the local entities in the Middle East countries (mainly, when there is no “in-house lawyer” in the said countries). This will include, without limitation, turn-key contracts (e.g. FIDIC), Supply Contracts, Subcontracts, Consortium Agreements, Teaming Agreements, NDA’s, etc.
In This Context
Conceiving, drafting, negotiating and implementing contractual and legal solutions fit for the context of the business matters to be addressed in the Country.
Identifying legal stakes so that risks are detected, measured and mitigated at the stages of winning of the contracts and also of the contract performance monitoring and follow through.
To prepare the risk and opportunities register, identifying, quantifying, allocating the responsibilities and managing the mitigation of the risks in close cooperation with the other stakeholders of the respective bids and projects.
To coordinate all legal and contractual matters with offshore Units/BLs/GBUs involved in the business in Dubai.
To prepare, document and update the learnings from the past negotiations and advise the onshore as well as offshore Units/BLs/GBUs in any of their direct/indirect negotiations with the MOD of UAE.
Analyze local laws and regulations in order to develop local legal expertise in the Middle East countries, such as contract law, company law, public procurement law, etc. and manage the support of external advisors when required.
To ensure the all documents/licenses/registrations etc. related to entities in Abu Dhabi are maintained, renewed and updated and all necessary liaising in this regards is done with other departments.
Drafting & responding to all commercial and contractual correspondence and where necessary involve the respective Units/BLs/GBUs.
Providing contractual input/advice in project coordination meetings and progress meetings.
Formulate and present commercial reports to senior management on all activities involving the legal and contract function for the Company in Abu Dhabi.
To be part of any legal actions initiated in Abu Dhabi and defend the interest of the Company.
To support the regional L&C team as and when requested.
Contribute to reinforce the position of entities in the Middle East countries towards partners, suppliers and customers by providing secured legal solutions in all business relationships (e.g. teaming / consortium agreements, JV Agreements, etc.).

Profile / Requirements
The Job Holder should have a minimum of 7 to 10 years professional experience as Contract Manager providing support to a project in an international environment. A legal background or experience (as in-house lawyer or as a solicitor) would be a considerable benefit for the job applicant.
He/she should be able to communicate, influence and operate effectively at all levels, gaining confidence and respect ; be autonomous, “teamwork capable” ; be able to maintain excellent relationships internally and externally while protecting the commercial integrity of the Company;
He/she must be fluent in the English language; excellent drafting in English;
Reading and writing in Arabic language would be preferred.
He/she Must Demonstrate

Excellent team player ability and good inter-personal skills with the ability to influence decisions;
Flexibility and adaptability (in particular to various environments and countries), providing advice and taking decisions on a wide range of contractual and legal issues and systems;
Ability to interact with senior management (PM, Country Director, Units providing solutions, regional and corporate support functions and getting consensus)
