About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chief Baker to lead our bakery team at a new luxury hotel that is soon to open. The Chief Baker will be responsible for overseeing the bakery operations and delivering high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastries.
Develop and execute a wide range of bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts, ensuring high-quality and consistent taste, texture, and presentation
Create recipes, adjust ingredients, and modify processes to optimize production efficiency and maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene
Manage inventory levels, orders, and expenses for bakery supplies, ingredients, and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement and maintenance
Lead, train, and motivate the bakery team, including bakers, pastry chefs, and assistants, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of professionalism, teamwork, and productivity
Collaborate with other culinary teams, including the Diretcor of Culinary, Executive Sous Chef, Chef De Cuisine, and Kitchen Team, to ensure the timely and smooth production and delivery of food items across all outlets
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bakery environment, ensuring compliance with local health and safety regulations and hotel standards
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, market demands, and emerging technologies in bakery operations and suggest innovations, new products, and process improvements to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue
Key Skills And Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a Chief/Head Baker or similar role in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant
Strong knowledge of bakery techniques, methods, and ingredients, as well as a keen sense of taste, creativity, and attention to detail
Ability to manage a team of bakers and pastry chefs, including training, coaching, and performance evaluation
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and flexibility
Understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations and procedures, as well as experience with inventory management, ordering, and cost control
Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred, but not required
